A Very Profitable Day

Today was actually a pretty nice day (although it's supposed to snow AGAIN tonight!) DBF and I headed out today in search of a new ice tea maker after I put the plastic pitcher in the dishwasher and apparently the water was so hot that it morphed it into a pretty wacky shape. Guess our new plumbing is working great!

All the ice tea makers were HUGE so we struck out in that regard, but we sure did get some great deals.

Walgreens

Transaction 1 (Me - this one was actually Friday night)

  • 4 3 Musketeers bars, $0.49 with in-ad coupon
  • 2 Kotex maxi pads, 24 count, on sale for $3.00 each
  • Used the $2.00 off 2 coupon for Kotex from the 1/10 SS
  • Used the 15% Friends and Family coupon
Final Price: $5.32 and got back $4.50 in Register Rewards ($1.50 RR for buying 4 Mars candy bars and $3.00 for buying 2 Kotex.) And I'll submit for the Kotex $4.00 Panty Challenge, which will make this a $3.12 moneymaker!

Transaction 2 (Me again)
  • 2 Oreos 5 oz, on sale this week for $0.99 each
  • 1 Oreo Cakesters (12-count package), $3.50
  • 2 Kotex maxi pads, 24 count, on sale for $3.00 each
  • Used $1.00 off 2 coupon for Nabisco cookies from the Nabisco $55 Back to School coupon booklet
  • Used the "FREE Cakesters wyb Oreos" tearpad coupon found last week at Hen House
  • Used the $2.00 off 2 coupon for Kotex from the 1/10 SS
  • Used a $1.50 RR from Transaction 1
Final Price: $3.72. My $3.00 RR for the Kotex didn't print, so the manager gave it back to me in cash. I'll submit this one also for the Kotex $4.00 Panty Challenge, which will make this a $3.28 moneymaker!

Transaction 3 (The Cookie Monster, a.k.a. DBF)
Final Price: This transaction looks weird because the store was out of full-size Cakesters, so the manager offered to let us have 4 of the individual packages at the same price as a full-size box. He had to do some register magic to get this to work, I'm sure. Anyway, final total was $1.03.

Then it was on to Target to take advantage of the Olay\Venus Embrace deal and the new $15.00 Olay rebate.

Target

Transaction 1 (Me)

  • 2 Gillette Venus Embrace Razors at $6.99 each = $13.98
  • 3 Olay body washes at $5.50 each = $16.50
  • Used two $2.00 manufacturer coupons from the 2/7 P&G
  • Used 2 coupons for "FREE Olay body wash wyb Venus razor" from the 2/7 PG
  • Used 1 $1.00 coupon for Olay body wash from the 1/17 PG
Final Price: $14.85 and got back two $5.00 Target gift cards = $4.85.

Had the cashier print 2 copies of the receipt and will submit for both the Olay $15 rebate and the P&G $100 rebate. Final total: $10.15 moneymaker!

Transaction 2 (DBF)
Rinse and repeat Transaction 1, only I used 3 gift cards to pay (2 from Transaction 1 and another from buying those Quaker oatmeal cups. So no out-of-pocket! Had the cashier print 2 copies of the receipt and will submit for both the Olay $15 rebate and the P&G $100 rebate. Final total: $10.15 moneymaker!
