Weekend Houndin'

I had $34.00 in Extra Care Bucks expiring next weekend and, with the deals not being that great, I was getting a little nervous. So DBF and I headed out to CVS on Saturday to see if we could whittle that amount down a bit. I had everything all planned out until we went to get the free-after-ECB photo card. I didn't realize this was a photo kiosk thing! For some reason, I thought it was a card that you could slip a photo into. Duh! So all we had on our cell phones was pictures of our dogs. They turned out adorably though, didn't they?

Transaction 1: (my card)
2 Reach floss 30 yards, $3.99 each
1 Trident Layer gum, on sale for $0.99 this week
1 Photo Card, $1.00
1 Excedrin Extra Strength 24-count, $4.79
2 Excedrin Migraine 24-count, $5.29 each
- Used the "buy one get one FREE" coupon for Reach from the 1/3 RP
- Used the $1.00 coupon for Reach from the 1/3 RP (for the one that wasn't free)
- Used three $2.00 printable coupons for Excedrin
- Used the $0.75 coupon for Trident from the 2/7 SS
Final Price: $13.60; used $13.00 in ECBs and the rest on a gift card and got back $12.00 in ECBs ($4.00 for Reach, $7.00 for Excedrin, and $1.00 for photo card.)

Transaction 2: (DBF's card)
2 Reach floss 30 yards, $3.99 each
4 Trident Layer gum, on sale for $0.99 this week
1 Photo Card, $1.00
- Used the "buy one get one FREE" coupon for Reach from the 1/3 RP
- Used the $1.00 coupon for Reach from the 1/3 RP (for the one that wasn't free)
- Used four $0.75 coupons for Trident from the 2/7 SS
Final Price: $4.95; used $4.95 in ECBs and got back $6.00 in ECBs ($4.00 for Reach, $1.00 for photo card and $1.00 for using Green bag tag) = $1.05 profit!

I needed to get gas before the snow storm showed up, so we stopped by QuikTrip that just happened to have a Walgreens across the street. I couldn't resist, even though I had nothing planned out. But I figured I could do some moneymakers to get us some cheap coffee and ibuprofen (for my poor hunny's sinus infection.) Hence, the crazy list of transactions.

Transaction 1 (me)
Super Poligrip, on sale for $2.00 this week
- Used the $1.50 printable coupon
Final Price: $0.50 + tax and got back a $2.00 RR = $1.50 profit!

Transaction 2 (DBF)
Repeat of Transaction 1 = $1.50 profit!

Transaction 3 (me again)
Folgers coffee, on sale for $6.99 this week
- Used the $2.00 RR from Transaction 1
Final Price: $4.99 <------not a bad price for coffee!

Transaction 4 (me again; DBF was off looking at ibuprofen)
Dove Mens+ Body Wash, $5.99
Snickers bar, $0.49 with in-ad coupon (filler)
- Used the $1.25 coupon from the 1/31 RP (I didn't have the $1.50 printable with me)
- Used the $2.00 RR from Transaction 2
Final Price: $3.42 and got back a $6.00 RR = $0.58 profit!

Transaction 5 (DBF)
Walgreens ibuprofen 200-count, $6.99
- Used the $6.00 RR from Transaction 4
Final Price: $0.99 + tax

I'm going to think of this as spending just $3.41 for coffee - half price!
