Looks like Price Chopper may have to price match on the strawberries. Hy-Vee has them at 2 lb./$2.99 this week, beating PC's price by 50¢ a lb.

I saw that also, but I wasn't sure if they would price match it or not since it's not the exact same item (1 lb vs. 2 lb). If you try it, can you let me know? Thanks!

In-store at Hy-Vee, the berries WERE in 1 lb. boxes, but the online weekly add states 2 lb. pkg. for $2.99. I bought them at Hy-Vee because I only wanted 1 lb. anyway, but when I was in Price Chopper I asked about the matching. They said they would match it, but only if you had the competitors' ad in hand as proof. Kind of like Wal-Mart does, although the few times I've tried it at Wal-Mart, I've only had to tell them; I've never had to show the ad.

Also at our local Wal-Mart, they sometimes just go ahead and reduce the price on the shelf to match a competitor's ad. That's nice because then you don't even have to ask for the match.

Awesome! Thanks for the update on that, Annie. I foresee a pie in my future. What better way to spend this snowy weekend than eating homemade pie?!
