Rockin' the Grocery Deals this Weekend

There were some really good sales going on this weekend - particularly at Hen House and Apple Market (I posted about these earlier - click the links to see the details.) DBF and I had to head out to get some food for the littel furry piggies that we share our house with (yes, Domino, I'm talking about you!) So, while were were out, we swung by to pick up some of the deals and hunt for coupons.

Hen House

  • 3 7-Up product 2-liters at $0.78 each = $2.34

  • 2 Kraft Velveeta Shells and Cheese, on sale for $1.99 each; used $1.00 off 2 peelie found on the Velveeta package (one shown in pic) = $1.49 each

  • 2 Nabisco Triscuit crackers, on sale for $1.56 each, two $1.00 coupons for Nabisco crackers from the 1/24 SS = $0.56 each

  • 2 Roberts French Onion dips 16 oz, on sale for $0.98 each, used two $0.40 coupons for Roberts dips (from ???); doubles to $0.80 = $0.18 each

  • Dole bananas, $0.39 per lb = $1.54

  • Bag refund of $0.05

  • Final Price: $8.39
That's an incredible deal on the Roberts french onion dip. Also, they were out of the Grande tortilla chips ($0.49 after the $1.00 coupon from the 1/10 SS) and the Nabisco Chickin in a Biskit (I love these), so I got rainchecks for both. Oh, and I found $0.55 peelie coupons on the New York brand garlic toast, which would come in handy at our next stop.

Then we were off to Apple Market:

Apple Market

The deal we were after at Apple Market was the Bertolli deal where you buy 2 Bertolli frozen meals and get New York garlic toast and a Dole salad for free with the in-ad coupon. Since Bertolli retails for $8.99, this is a great deal. But I was hoping to use some manufacturer coupons to make this a GREAT deal.
  • 2 Bertolli meals, $5.00 each, used two $1.00 coupons from the 3/14 RP
  • 1 Dole salad, $1.79 but FREE with in-ad coupon, also used $1.00 tearpad coupon found previously at Price Chopper
  • 1 New York brand garlic toast, $2.50 but FREE with in-ad coupon, also used $0.55 peelie coupon found earlier at Hen House

  • Final Price: $6.24 + tax
It seems cheaper because the register is actually taking off $2.00 for the salad, so you're getting $0.21 overage!
I wasn't sure if they were going to let me use the manufacturer coupons on the New York toast and Dole salad. In fact, I was certain they wouldn't, but she didn't even blink! More importantly, the register didn't beep. Cheap lasagna meals for us! This deal runs through March 16th, so it's not too late to snag yours.

I also found coupon flyers at this store that are full of manufacturer coupons, including Ocean Spray, Kraft singles, Oscar Mayer hot dogs, etc. I'll do a separate post on these with a complete list for you later tonight.
