May Motherload of Meat (Rebates)

Let's talk about beer and liquor rebates for a minute, because they are probably these easiest way to get FREE or cheap food. That's especially true if you live in Missouri (or AL, AR, CT, HI, IN, KY, ME, NC, NJ, NY, OK, UT or WV), because those states have laws that state that you cannot require that the consumer purchase the alcoholic beverage. Everybody else, you gotta buy the booze.

After devouring my FREE 32-oz Quiktrip iced tea earlier this week, and hitting several stores, I had to stop in and "freshen up" in Price Chopper and guess what I saw sitting on a table by the bathrooms? All of these rebate forms! Don't tell, but I snagged a couple...

Heineken Rebate

This one has 3 different rebate forms in it (yes, you can do all 3):

  • $20 rebate for a $30 purchase of premium meat and\or seasonings AND two 12-packs of various Heineken products (above states do NOT have to purchase the alcohol) - or - $10 off a $20 purchase

  • $5 rebate for a $15 purchase of fresh produce AND a 12-pack of Heineken product

  • $5 rebate for the purchase of a 4-pack energy drink AND a 12-pack of Heineken product
Rebate period is 5/1/10 through 9/30/10, must include UPC codes, original cash register receipt(s), and must be postmarked by 10/7/10.

Dos Equis Rebate

This one also has multiple rebate forms in it AND a coupon for hot sauce:
  • $10.00 rebate for a $20 purchase of fresh produce AND a 12-pack of Dos Equis product

  • $10 rebate for a $20 purchase of fresh meat and\or seafood AND a 12-pack of Dos Equis product

  • $5 rebate for a purchase of 3 tortilla chips AND a 12-pack of Dos Equis product

  • $1.00 coupon for Cholula hot sauve 5 or 12 oz (expires 6/30/10)
Rebate period is 4/1/10 through 5/15/10, must include UPC codes, original cash register receipt(s), and must be postmarked by 5/28/10. So this one expires today but, if you keep your receipts, you probably have enough to send in for this rebate. I do!

Another Dos Equis Rebate
  • $30 rebate for a $50 purchase of premium meats, seafood, fresh produce, energy bars, trail mix, bottled water and\or ice AND a 12-pack of Dos Equis product

  • $10 rebate for a $20 purchase of premium meats, seafood, fresh produce, energy bars, trail mix, bottled water and\or ice AND a 12-pack of Dos Equis product

  • $5 rebate for a purchase of 3 tortilla chips AND a 12-pack of Dos Equis product

  • $1.00 coupon for Cholula hot sauve 5 or 12 oz (expires 6/30/10)
Rebate period is 5/15/10 through 9/7/10, must include UPC codes, original cash register receipt(s), and must be postmarked by 9/20/10.

Want to win some of these rebate forms? Stay tuned...it's coming up later this morning!

So, in MO, we just have to buy the products and not the alcohol? So for the 1st example, you have to buy $30 of meat? Do they have to be from certain stores? What do you do for rebates when they ask you to send in the original receipt? What if you need to keep it for other products and rebates? I have never done rebates, so I am new to this.

I find beer rebates very confusing because they are often very vague. One I tried to do said to buy "meat". I called and they said "meat" only meant fresh beef, no chicken, nothing frozen, etc. I just finished one rebate for chips and salsa that said to circle the meat purchase, but no where on the form did it mention you had to purchase meat. I am always afraid I am not going to get the money back because they'll say I didnt buy the right items.
